About Me
Nechama Srebro Dworkind, M.Sc.(A), S-LP(C)
Speech-Language Pathologist
My Education
In 1993, I graduated with distinction from Concordia University with a B.A. in Honours Linguistics. The following year, I began to pursue my dream of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist at McGill University. When I completed my M.Sc.(A) degree at McGill in 1997, I began to work in private practice, at the English Montreal School Board and at a paediatric rehabilitation centre. In 2008 I left the public sector and decided to dedicate myself to a career in private practice so that I could provide my clients with the highest possible quality of service.
My Experience
For several years, I worked in the schools with students who had learning disabilities and/or difficulties with articulation, stuttering and voice. I also had the opportunity to work with many preschoolers with speech and language disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ever since grad school, my passion has been to work with children and adults with challenges in the areas of stuttering and vocal health. In the last few years, I’ve developed a new specialization in the area of corporate speech-language pathology. Success at work is often dependant on one’s ability to communicate effectively with confidence. When a person has difficulty communicating with their superiors and colleagues, it becomes difficult for them to realize their full potential. A corporate Speech-Language Pathologist can help you pinpoint why you are having trouble communicating and coach you to communicate more effectively at work and at play. We can also sharpen your public speaking skills and work on accent reduction, depending on your needs.
